Haikal First Movie

My colleague promised me free tickets to ‘Cicakman 2’ since I have been helping her drafting the terms and conditions for ‘Cicakman 2’ contest to be uploaded to the channel’s website. I have been telling Haikal about it and he was very excited. He kept asking me when we can go watch the movie constantly and persistently and bordering to the stage of annoying.

For me, after the end of Harry Potter’s series, I felt empty. I lived in the world of Harry Potter. I have been in deep discussion with a dear friend about it, Miss Liz Claiborne (I know you know who you are LOL) and she introduced me to ‘Twilight’. Though I find it not as fascinating as Harry Potter I kept on reading it and tried to be as much involved in the book. I am fascinated with Edward and his self control. The ‘vegetarian vampire’ so he said. I have been telling hubby that I wanted to watch Twilight. Though I am a bit disappointed with the chosen ‘Edward ‘ but I am content and I believed that he was chosen for a reason….. hmmm…

OK, back to Haikal. Told hubby that Twilight is on and I want to go watch it last 2 weekends. But he said, he wanted to bring Haikal go watch ‘Madagascar’ together with my SIL, Nan. Ok la, Twilight can wait another week since I don’t even know at that time when I am gonna get tickets for Cicakman 2.

So, we went back to Sungai Buluh last 2 weeks, left Alaani and bibik there and brought Haikal and Nan to One Utama. Before that, since morning, we had to listen to Haikal rambling and nagging to go watch ‘Madagascar’ to the point that we nearly cancelled since he kept on insisting on it. Even while queieng to buy ticket, Haikal kept saying ‘I wanna watch madagascar’. Isk isk mmg hilang sabar tau…

Bought popcorn and softdrinks and finally, we were in the theatre. As usual, they were showing the ads and thrillers and again, we almost lost our patience when Haikal kept asking when will the movie start. HELPPP!!!!! Anybody has any tips for annoying kids?

All in all he was very happy and excited. But every now and then he asked when will the movie finish, why is it so long. Isk isk… he dance with the character but luckily he dint run around the theatre like the other 2 kids on the front row.

Haikal had too many popcorns and softdrinks and the theatre was so cold. After the movie finished, he said he has to go. Hubby brought him to the gents and there was a long queue. Hubby dint think of taking him to the disabled toilet and being a kid he couldn’t contain it and he wet his pants. Luckily we brought extra clothes with us and he had to change and Nan and myself had to wait a long time outside the men’s toilet. What a day…

Last week we watched Twilight. Dint bring Haikal this time. We needed time on our own. You know what? I’ll write in a different post. Tunggu… Paddington House of Pancake and Twilight in a day…

Last Wednesday, my colleague told me that she had the tickets for Cicakman 2 ready and to collect it from her. She got like tickets for the whole theatre and she also had the sitting positions in her desktop (like when you buy tickets at the counter, they will show you the sitting positions)… Wow…. So chose my seats got the tickets and we’re good to go. Going with Miss Nichii and her family. Told hubby about it and he said he cant go, he has to attend launching for his client’s new project in Kinrara the whole weekend. Too bad…

As usual, the second choice is Nan. Since it’s a school holiday, she will always be available. Yesterday, went to Sungai Buluh, left Alaani and Bibik there, off we go to Cathay Cineleisure. Met up with Miss Niichi and were told by my other colleague that it was free seating so we can seat anywhere. Sat together with Miss Niichi and Cicakman 2 started. That was fast, no ads and thrillers. Ohh… we also got free popcorns and drinks this time. It was fun. I think better than the first Cicakman.

After that, window shopped at the Curve and Ikano. Haikal kept on crying and asking for toys. I really don’t know what to do. He has to get something if not he will cry and started kicking me or making scenes. He has like 3 boxes of toys that he dint play with. It’s just the excitement of getting something new. I felt like I bought more things for him compared to Alaani. Yesterday, for instance I bought 2 shirts for Haikal but none for Alaani. Haikal is in need of new clothes, he grew up taller now and that his shirts are all getting smaller. But not his pants though, he can still fit his pants from his infant years but I had to alter a little bit la, sew to make it 3 quarter pants.

Reality Show -Programme

Am not really a fan of that programme but since I was very much involve with not the making of the programme but more on the legal side of it + I know the background of it, I sort of felt obligated to watch the programme every week or at least know the weekly theme or which couple was voted out. Puan Majistret minta maaf…. I know how much you love the programme.

Last week or was it last 2 weeks sowey I cant remember, the producer called me up checking on some work related problem. Then she asked why I haven’t been to the show yet. Told her I might go for the finale but she said to come anytime but she will save seats for me for the finals if I want to. I have this new colleague who seems to be enjoying all these things i.e. artists and gossips and from just an empty talk it turned into a done deal. We are going for the recording of the programme this week. ‘We’ here means my manager, my boss, my new colleague and me.

After like so many discussions on what to wear and how to act and where to seat, we finally went last night. When we arrived to office, we checked on each other’s clothes. None of us is dressed according to the theme hehheheheh…. The theme this week is rock and roll.

So after all the hard work (LOL), it’s time to go. We thought of having something to eat prior to the recording and having the privilege of being the staff, we got in without the need to queue like the rest of the audience. Btw, all the audiences were asked to wait at the lobby. We went in, saw the place where the host supposed to interview the contestant while waiting for the jury to give out scores, took pictures, then went to cafeteria for light snack.

The producer forwarded me his tac team contact number earlier. She told me to call him and he will show us our seats. Called him up and he said to meet him in front of Studio 1 now. So we went and he showed us our seats. OMG it was front seats with VIP labels on it hahhahaha… We were seated next to the celebrities and behind the judges….

Before it started, the floor manager informed the audience what’s going to happen, showed us when and how to clap (which is all the time) and all the dos and the donts. Our hand hurts even before the show started huhuhuhu… and our mouth hurts form laughing…. I am so sure that our faces will be on TV A LOT. But since I was seated beside the celebrity (dare not mention name here, but if you are watching the programme tomorrow and you know who I am, you’ll know who the celebrity was hehehhe), he’ll be blocking me with his banner (I really hope so).

So the recording took about 2 and half hours with breaks and retakes in between. We were quite fascinated cos we have never been to any recording even my boss who has been working here for 12 years now. During break, we had to give our seats to all the fans who wanted to take pictures with all the celebrities. One of my colleague, she wanted to take pictures at the stage, so I took many pictures of her there.

Basically that’s it, but overall it was a new experience for me. Thought of going for the decision show cos that one will be a live show. I have to go to all this, cos I need to know the product mwahahhahahah… hmmm should i post pictures here?? hmmmmm....

Scary Dentist

I just realized that I need to do filling for one of my tooth as the hole (is that what they call it hehhehe) is getting bigger and bigger. So last Sunday I went on a hunt for a dentist. I know that not many clinics open on Sundays but I don’t wanna wait for next Saturday. So clinic after clinic I went and it all closed. I went to Ampang Point, Bandar Baru Ampang and at last end up in Taman Kosas where I came across this clinic which was open.

As I went up the stairs, I made this comment silently, the place looked damp, smell of old buildings and old carpets. If I don’t like the look of the clinic, I’ll go elsewhere. The clinic really looked like an old clinic with the rattan sofa and the ceiling fan and the best word to describe it, it looked really bad. There was a guy dressed very badly sitting on the rattan sofa having a smoke. I was about to left when he asked me why I was there. I immediately answered I need to do filling and he said “OK, go sit inside”. I heard myself saying leave, leave the place but my leg did otherwise. I went in and sat at the supposedly ‘dentist chair’. It was a leather chair really in bad condition, the sink where you normally wash your mouth was broken and the lamp only had one bulb.

So apparently that badly dressed man smoking a cigarette is the dentist. Initially I wanted to do scaling as well but obviously I will not. He checked on my tooth and said he can only do temporary filling. Lucky me…. All the while I was cursing myself for not leaving the clinic. He filled my tooth with the temporary filling and told me to bite on it for at least 30 minutes and that’s it. With that I paid and left the place.

I was like what the hell did I think and what the hell did I just do… Luckily nothing happened and he turned out to be a real dentist. I really cant think of the ‘What ifsssss…..’. When I told hubby about that, he was also so shocked that I did not leave the place… isk isk… I still cannot think why I stayed…

So, moral of the story… think first before you act. Sigh….

Office Issues

Last week was really a bad week for me. Not in terms of work but one of the staff. She really tried on my patience and being me, I almost lost it. Luckily I managed to contain my anger by keeping busy and maintaining straight face.

Monday – She made me wait for her for 1 ½ hours to go to lunch just for a 2 line email to my boss. We dint plan to eat outside just need to tapau food and come back. If not because I pitied her I would have left her behind. She dint drive that day and here in my office, we have to drive out to get food.

Tuesday - She asked me for a favour ‘to help her get money from my boss’ She made this herbal drink which she says good for whatever la I don’t even care and she managed to persuade my boss to try. I am not sure my boss even knew she’s actually selling the drink. Obviously I am not going to ask money from my boss on her behalf. Am gonna look stupid and I don’t even know about the drink until she asked me for that ‘favour’. The first time she asked I said no, then she tried to persuade me again by calling me on the phone. When I said no again she called me ‘gampang’. Am I even at fault for not entertaining her request?

Wednesday – She asked me for a favour again. This time she wanted me to transfer money into her account because she dint want to keep a lot of cash in hand. That’s a reasonable favour if you don’t ask the details. You know what? She wanted to give me 100 RM1 notes in exchange for the RM100 I am going to remit into her account. Is that even a reasonable favour?

Thursday – I was in the middle of discussions with my colleague and channel people. She came to me to with a query. I told her to come back later as I was in a discussion. She still continued with whatever that she’s saying until my colleague told her to come back later when ‘we are no longer in a discussion’. It shows how she dint respect me as her superior. Tu belum crita pasal kerja. She always told me to go find and look for the documents myself when that is part of her job description.

In the afternoon, I told her to send original executed agreement to one of our Singapore partner. She sent out the ORIGINAL EXECUTED AGREEMENT without a covering letter. When I asked her why she did not prepare the cover letter, she dared to answer that my email din’t say so. Then I asked her again, normally how do you send out agreement, with or without cover letter. She answered with a cover letter. Then why don’t you prepare one or even ask me whether to prepare one? Again she said because my email dint say so. This is not an extraordinary task. This is again within her job description. She knew she has to prepare the letter but now she’s putting the blame back on me because my email did not say so. She told me that she will try to retrieve the document from the courier company.

Friday – She was behaving extra nice to me this morning. I guess she knew that I am a bit pissed off with her but not for long, during breakfast with few other colleagues, she called me ‘Gampang’ again for reason I cant even remember. This time I sort of lost my temper. In a stern voice I told her ‘kot ye pun berpada la apa nak panggil orang pun…..’ she blushed and smiled and straight away change the topic. After breakfast, she called me and tried to explain again or the correct words blamed me again for the reason why she did not prepare the cover letter. What the @@#!? Please leave me alone…..

AAAAAAArrrrraarrrggghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh……

Peekaboo

I played peekaboo a lot with Alaani. She really loved it. She will give me big smiles and make a happy sound. But Haikal hated it when I did it to him… hahhahaha… he’s big to play peekaboo he said.

Last night after breakfasting, I placed her on the sofa and I sat on the floor in front of her. Played and cooed her into talking with me, baby talk of course. I love it when she looked at me and gave me her cute whole body grin.

Suddenly she put her head down and after a while she looked up again and make some sound ‘haaaaaaa’.... Then she did it again. It took me a while to notice that it sounded like the sound I made when I played peekaboo with her. OMG I was laughing and hugging and kissing her and she made the happy giggling sound. Hubby and Haikal came to join but Alaani didn’t do it again. They missed it hahhahahha…

After that hubby went out to smoke at the corridor. Haikal busy watching cartoon. Out of sudden, Alaani called out ‘aaaaayaaahhh’…. Huhuhuhuhu she called out ayah first instead of mama. Haikal too called hubby’s name first than me…. Sob sob… called hubby and told him about Alaani. As expected, he grinned till his ears. Hubby tried to get Alaani to call out his name again and of course she didn’t. it’s just a one time thing.

But was it true or was it my imagination only god knows. Hihihihihihiihihi.

Paeds V ENT

Haikal has been having fever on and off through out his short 3 years of life now. Been hospitalized twice for high and prolonged fever and because of that, I brought him to see a pediatrician friend of mine working in one of the government hospitals. Her first diagnose was it’s Haikal’s nose and after conducting few tests, she wrote a referral letter for Haikal to go see ENT at the same hospital. True enough, he has what they call it ‘Allergic Rhinitis’ just like me and the doctor prescribed him few medicine and nose spray to reduce the engorging adenoids.

To date, he has been under the observation of both paed and ENT for almost a year. The last time we went for his follow up, both the paed and the ENT suggested that Haikal undergo an operation to remove the adenoids.

ENT – this is the 3rd visits and there is no improvement, which means the medication did not help his condition, it’s just helps not to worsen his adenoids. As such, I would suggest an operation to remove his adenoids and insyaallah after the surgery he will not caught fever as often as now. We are a bit reluctant as he is still so small. The doctor also inform and advice us on the risk and consequences if we decide to prolonged the operation and advice us to reconsider our decision to wait at least until he reaches 4.

Paeds – she asked whether there is any improvement with Haikal’s fever. When I said no, she also suggested that Haikal go for the operation and she asked whether the ENT has advised the same. When we told her that we decided to wait, she asked me whether I have ever noticed that Haikal stops breathing during the night. Not that I am aware of. Then she asked again whether Haikal sits up during his sleep or look for a higher head position. I looked at hubby and laughingly said, all the time. Then she said it’s actually a sign that the oxygen did not reach his head, and the sitting up part during his sleep is actually a reaction for lack of oxygen and that he is gasping for air. OMG, we dint know that, we in fact laughed at him for sitting in his sleep. We felt really bad. The paed once again asked us to reconsider our decision to wait. She said we can’t see the effects now because he is small but it will affect him later if his head continuously lacking of oxygen. She gave us a different medicine this time to try and see if there’s improvement. Said that the medicine is very expensive about RM7.50 per tablet and supposed to be very effective. Luckily it was a government hospital, if not, bankrupt la aku hehhehe….

After the consultation, at night when I woke up to nurse Alaani, I will observe Haikal’s breathing. Once I notice that in between his snoring, he was quiet and then came the sound like he was gasping for air. Is that the sign that the paeds talk about? Was that a moment where Haikal stops breathing. I read up about it but mostly the articles discussed serious issues of cant remember the medical term for it. But none really discussed the initial stage of it.

By this time, Haikal will know when he’s about to have fever and whenever he said, mama haikal rasa macam nak demam, he will actually had the fever. But there’s 2 type of Haikal’s fever:-
Serious – he will start shivering and his temperature will shoot up so high. Then, he will start throwing up and by this time he’s face will be all red and flushed. By this time, he will only lie down looking very helpless.
Not serious – mama tak sedap badan la, but he can still run around making havoc and disturbing me.

Last Saturday, he told me Haikal rasa nak demam la. True enough, he had viral fever. It was bad this time. Once, I scolded him for puking on the carpet. Then, while walking to the bathroom he said prayers “Ya Allah, baikkanlah demam aku. Amin…” I felt so bad for scolding him. I was touched and sad. He looked so small with tears in my eyes.

We took him to the clinic and the doctor showed hubby his engorging tonsils that almost filled up his throat. That’s the reason why he refused to eat or drinks. It hurts him to swallow and I always forced him to eat and drink milk all the while… isk isk.. but he has to eat something right? Or at least take his milk.

The next follow up with the paeds will be end of this month. Our decision is still the same, we will wait until he reaches 4 or at least until I get my confirmation letter.
